There's been a load of hype around leveraging automation tools to help streamline workflows, especially around the marketing & sales domain. One such tool that we've seen popping up on our timeline is n8n.
It's a tool that helps companies design and execute workflows within their businesses. Why we're especially keen on this specific tool is the ability to self-host.
While cloud-based services (such as Make.com, RelevanceAI & Lindy.ai) have their benefits, we're exploring the intersection of n8n, cloud and devops so having the ability to connect to AWS resources in a secure environment is what we're after.
Last Friday, Jason sat down with Giuseppe from the AWS Startups team to deploy self-hosted n8n on an instance deployed with Amazon Lightsail.
We used Amazon Lightsail because it's a very easy to understand pricing model for small businesses and startups. We installed EasyPanel, a tool that allows even more flexibility to deploy applications onto virtual machines.
From there we deployed n8n using the EasyPanel N8n Template and then went about setting up a simple workflow to call Amazon Bedrock APIs.
Check the video below.
We're hoping to continue to host these sessions on the AWS Startup Garage over the next few months. Our goal is to provide guidance on best practices on operating n8n in AWS.
